LABOR DAY.....is it really a day for labors..? or is just one more holiday in Pakistani calendar...? when i was a child i used to wait for the 1st May as it was the source of getting rid from school... but as i grew up i realized that in Pakistan it is just a day not for labors but for those who are the ruling class...they have just made this day to show that they are really in good relationships with the workforce... but actually they are trying to make their reputation better.... Can anyone tell me that a labor in Pakistan who is pushing a cart knows that !st may is his day..? is he aware of his rights... we just text each other or put on our facebook walls that happy labor day..but no one goes to that labor and tell him his rights or try to help him out...
i wish next time whenever 1st May will come ...we'll try to do something for our labors cuz its because of them our country is producing something, otherwise our government is good enough to drown the country...

ReplyDeleteInteresting! I didn't know Pakistan had a Labor Day, too; I thought it was just in the U.S. Pakistan shouldn't have one -- for the reasons you stipulated.
